So who has the best advice on quitting smoking.....?

I really would like to quit smoking but it's been tough..... hoping that someone out there has good advice ( i know unless your ready to quit the best advice won't do you any good ) but i know that down the road even though i dont have children i'd like to see them grow up when i doSo who has the best advice on quitting smoking.....?
Its not just the nicotine. Its also the other 50+ chemicals they out in cigarettes. Also the main problem is habit.


We have been used to having body sensations which we translate as 'my body needs something, which we have attempted to satisfy by having a cigarette.


When we try to stop smoking, we still get these 'my body needs something' sensations, and we still feel that we want a cigarette. We have to train our body to be more selective. When we feel we need something, we have to work out what it is that we actually need.


A glass of water is an excellent substitute if nothing else comes to mind, as it helps with the clearance of the toxic substances in our body. Another good substitute is a bag of salted peanuts, used in combination with the water.


Another thing to do is to find an activity which occupies the mind or body. Go swimming - nobody wants to smoke while they are swimming. Slowly, as our body adjusts and translates the 'want something' feelings into something other than cigarettes, then the feelings begin to go away. We know its not a cigarette that the body really needs, because as soon as we've had one we still have the feeling, and want another!So who has the best advice on quitting smoking.....?
First you have to be ready to quit... Mine was that I was turning 51 and I wanted to be around when my 13 year old daughter gets married. Second, make a date to quit. I chose my wife's 50th birthday... She said that it was the best present that I ever gave her. Third, try to do it at a time that your normal routine is disrupted... I took my wife to Vegas for her 50th...Seems a strange place to try to quit but because there was so much else to do, I didn't miss the smoking. And forth, acknowledge the fact that you still like the smell of smoking but you don't want to do it anymore. Hope that this helps... Good Luck!
Cold Turkey. Find something else to do with the time. Biking, exercise etc.
well, i quit smoking cigs and replaced it with weed. Granted 7 years later i just had to quit the weed. but its much less withdrawel, tho damn its missed. I say smoke weed, but if your not into that. Dont ever go to the place where you buy your cigs. Make sure you pay for your gas outside at the pump, never go in. Replace times you would smoke with taking a walk. Even if around your block each time. Thats what i did, it gets you back in shape, keeps you healthy, loses some of that nasty mucus, and distracts youm, gives you a chance to see nature and why you dont wunna die. Good luck, its a *****. Remember it only takes about a month... and then youll be the one who is like eww that is soooo gross.
Extinguish cigarette. Never light up another.
The first time I tried to quit smoking I went cold turkey. I had headaches, I felt shaky, and I was in a horrible mood. I decided to quit on a Friday and try to sleep through the worst of it. The next time I tried to quit, I used the patch. It was a lifesaver! The patch completely got rid of my physical cravings and from then on it was just mental (which can be harder).





I've never tried any of the gums or suckers, but I assume they would help. What i missed most about smoking was the action of smoking.





I would recommend the patch, but be careful because it can cause nausea and insomnia. And get something to substitute for the cigarette like mints, or carry around a bag of carrots. Good luck!

When you have the craving,mix 2 teaspoons of baking soda with water,and drink it real fast.This will curb the craving.That is how I quit.
