Should I apply for jobs now? 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?

I will graduate in May 2008. (Master's Degree)

Should I apply for jobs now? If not, when is the best time to apply?

Thank you :)Should I apply for jobs now? 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?
It's always good to get your resume out into the hiring pool even before you graduate.

Some employers will hire you anyways even if they know you won't graduate for another 6 months. I don't know how often this happens, but it happend to my aunt. They even reimbursed part of her tuitiion during her last semester. They saw her as a pre-investment, she said. lol.

Applying could also get your foot in the door--whether they hire you or not. They may offer you a current position that ';relates'; to your major, or similiar to the position you applied for, and then show in-house preference towards you later on when you graduate.Should I apply for jobs now? 10 points for the best advice. Definitely not too early to start. As you get closer to December make sure people know you're set to graduate in May and not December. A good company will offer early and be patient.

I have a friend graduating in December that got his job offer last April.

It will just give you that much longer to find the job you want.
Yes, It is never to early to apply and you will be known before all the people who wait untill the last minute to apply. I think it will show that you care.
noway get your masters then take a few years off travel take a break then worry about working
YES! - it is never too early to apply for a position with a company your interested in working for. The nice part about this is that even if you are not available to accept a position, you will at the very least know where you stand. On the plus side as well, it gives you the practical hands-on experience as to what you can expect during the interview process.

It's a WIN-WIN situation.
