What is the best advice on this matter (CREDIT)???

a collections agency contacted me about some funds iowe them and demanded that i pay within a certain time period i dont have that much money and have a family to feed and offered them a payment of as much as i could afford per month but they said they would not accept the payment unless it was a certain amount they were requesting what do i do now? What is the best advice on this matter (CREDIT)???
Ignore the greedy fucks.

If you ignore it they have two options

1. They will leave you alone and just make phones calls-Don't answer..or mail you...throw it away

or 2. They ill sue you, but i doubt it (Because it costs more than the debt is worth usually)

If they do sue, go to court and show the judge you have no money, i can tell you, i doubt they will even show up and the judge will hopefully see your situation..considering you OFFERED something.

They don't care, they just want the whole amount. These companies buy old debts for pennies on the dollar and use extortion on people.

If your debts were credit cards..forget the wankers

FOOD is more important then some unsecured debt. What is the best advice on this matter (CREDIT)???
I strongly suggest you to advertise a garage sale in your local newspaper and sell everything you have (Including your bed) and pay them as soon as possible.

You don't fool around with collection agencies.

THEY WILL BREAK IN YOUR HOUSE AND STEAL EVERYTHING YOU HAVE (Legally)

I am sure the owner of the business that holds your debt has a family to feed too.
collectors job is to make you pay so they can get a bigger fatter paycheck. they get commissions on your payments! they even have contests with bonuses if someone can get the most $$ in house in a day. If someone hasnt been able to collect the debt and someone does...it's a fun fest in the agency. dont let them bully you. you dont even have to talk to them or negotiate. They wont sue you unless you owe ALOT of money and it's illegal for them to threaten you and not follow thru it. BEFORE you talk each time they call ask them if it's ok if you RECORD the conversation. they'll crap their drawers and be on their best behavior. alot of states require the collector to be licensed...and the agency of course.

If you cannot pay....dont!

They will just mark your account as not collectible which is like a slap in the face to the agency and they'll sell it fast. or say ';im sorry u have the wrong number'; when they ask for you. say you just got that number and are getting alot of calls for that person. They'll mark the account wrong number and sell it to another agency.

After the 7 yrs it falls off your credit report and they can eat crap before you should pay the account. wont hurt you. get a po box and mark on any collection notices ';return to sender not at this address'; if they come to your house addy.

Make them shake their heads in wonder.
Sorry to hear about your predicament. I hope i can give you some useful advice. If you find that you cannot afford this payment, tell them again in writing, keeping a copy for yourself. Offer them a standing order of this amount. Tell them that this will be the minimum ammount. Now if this fails to please them. go see the C.A.B. they may be able to put you in touch with an debt agengy who can act on your behalf. Normally, If you do this they van reduce your figure even more. Good Luck
